One of the tricky parts of the 100 day project (besides making time for scrapping every day) is keeping things fresh.)
From time to time I scroll Instagram looking for inspiration or a layout to scrap-lift, but as I was making my gallery I came across some layouts from this time last year and decided it was time to scrap-lift myself!
Here’s the layout I chose and the ‘modern day version’ (it’s kind of accidental that I ended up with a layout for the girls and one for the boys!)
I started by selecting some pattern paper strips, in the original layout there were layers of washi tape thrown in too, but I only added a few small strips of a pink polka dot washi most of the strips are from scraps of paper.
Once all the strips were very lightly adhered down (be careful with where you put double sided tape, don’t put it where you intend to sew or you will get glue all over your machine needle) I got my sewing machine out and stitched through the centre or along one edge. Then I used my finger nail to rough up the edges, the texture in these layouts is so fun, it’s what makes them.
I added more texture by taking my ‘photo strip ‘ and bumping it up on a layer of foam. Finally I added lots of stickers from the Maggie Holmes sticker book and a vertical title using the cute alphabet stickers by Paige Evans.
