I have been completing the 100 Day Project with the plan to create 100 A4 scrapbook pages. When I started creating the sketch I decided to use an A4 layout – this is the format my brain is working in at the mo! This could easily be adapted to 12×12 if you need it to be.
I have been loving making paper flowers on my Cricut so I knew I had to add a floral element to the layout, but you could easily replace the flowers with hearts, stars homemade embellishments or any of your favourite shapes!
The stitching implied down the left hand side could be machine stitched, hand stitched or you could add a drawn stitch or a doodle boarder instead.
Here is one of my interpretations of the sketch
I decided to use some of the papers from my May Wild Hare Kit and I was longing to fussy cut some of the floral papers so I cut some gorgeous dog roses from the Dear Lizzy paper ‘Live Simply’ I added a strip down the side in Maggie Holmes ‘Daisy’ paper which I adore, (I just love Daises such a beautiful flower!). I had purchased some brushed metallic papers from Poundland a while back and I used this gorgeous Bronze colour paper to mount my pictures on!
Finally I added some of these sweet glitter maple leaves from a recent haul from The Works, read that post here. I LOVE this gorgeous wood veneer ‘hello’ that came in a previous wild hare kit, it’s by Freckled Fawn and it’s just beautiful! 😍 I had been hoarding it – but that’s silly so I used it on this layout as it worked well with the colour scheme.
Do you use sketches? How rigidly do you stick to them?
